My Name is Sadie Richens. I am originally from the UK where I began my career as a Pastry Chef after graduating Catering College in 1989. I trained in Central London for 5 years working in 4 & 5 Star hotels and went on to travel the world building up 21 years experience in hotels and ski chalets.

I visited Queenstown in 2003 and its spectacular natural beauty was enough to entice me to settle on the other side of the world. This view is obviously shared by the many couples that choose to come to this stunning area to get married.
I worked at the beautiful 5 Star Millbrook Resort here in Arrowtown as head Pastry Chef for 7 years. It gave me the opportunity to make many wedding and celebration cakes. It was at this time I began my Truly Scrumptious Cakes adventure. I was lucky enough to have been able to build up my own private cake making business at the same time. Making wedding cakes for many of the fabulous venues in this area, also corporate cakes for local companies and many private wedding and birthday/celebration cakes. This is now my full time occupation and passion.
